Jacksonville Dog Wizard

We were recommended by my daughter to hire The Dog Wizard when we adopted Rocky at 8 mos old. Rocky was already 85 lbs, quite wild and not connecting with us or eye contact. My daughter researched dog trainers in the area and The Dog Wizard reviews came in with flying colors, plus people we knew also highly recommended their services. We met with Katie and Rocky immediately responded with her in a positive and connecting way. We fondly referred to her and her positive methods as the "Dog Whisperer". It was amazing to watch how suddenly this wild dog had impulse control and listened to commands.  He would stay in place until being released. Our life with Rocky now has structure and peace. He still has his goofy personality, but he listens and is behaved. We can take him out loose in our unfenced front yard and if he is distracted by a squirrel, we give a command and he stops. He now will sit without chasing the deer or rabbits, he is amazing. Rocky walks next to us without pulling and doesn't respond to other dogs on our walks. We could not have achieved any of this without The Dog Wizard. We did the 18 day program. They truly are Wizards of their pack. We highly recommend their services and thank The Dog Wizard of Jacksonville.

I cannot say enough great things about Katie/The Dog Wizard of Jacksonville. I reached out to her with goals for my 2 dogs, one very reactive and the other with some aggression issues. We ended up putting our shepherd mix through the Private Freedom lessons and our heeler mix through the 21 day Jumpstart program. Katie helped us set boundaries for both dogs, accomplish our training goals, and truly increase their quality of life. This was all very important to our family because we were on a bit of a time crunch with my pregnancy! I feel much more confident about bringing a baby into our house after all of Katie’s help and hard work. Highly recommend.

I can’t say enough about Katie the Dog Wizard!! We have 2 mini schnauzers and I had a long list of behaviors we needed help with. Their barking at the door was out of control, they wouldn’t stay in place, and they were digging holes all over the yard. Within a few sessions of training (Private Freedom), those behaviors were totally corrected! We are so thankful that we found Katie. She trained US, and now we have the best dogs! We highly recommend Katie!!!

Katie did an amazing job with our puppy, Bruno. He is still full of personality but he now knows when to turn his behaviors off and when to come- two very important things for our family. She stayed in constant contact while he was away learning his manners. We’ve already passed her information along to a couple other families and will continue to always recommend her!

As first time pet owners, the Private Puppy Program was perfect for us! The classes happened in our home which made things feel less intimidating for us and our pup, Talisker! Katie was amazing with Talisker, patient, and informative. She answered our constant questions and provided the tools and confidence we need to continue training him into the best pup! Katie was also super communicative and flexible when we needed to change a couple class dates. We were recommended by Adoption First where we adopted Talisker from and now couldn’t recommend Katie more!!

I need to brag on our trainer, Katie! If anyone is looking for a trainer Katie is amazing! She doesn’t train dogs to be robots

I tried to do the training by myself to start with but it didn’t seem to get the results that were needed by my family until I found Katie. She helped change my dogs life completely. He was almost unbearable for anyone to be around and could hardly contain himself. He jumped on people, pulled on walks, the typical puppy stuff. With Katie’s help he no longer does any of that. My family appreciated her and I would forever recommend her and use her for any future dogs.

Katie and the Dog Wizzard are absolutely amazing! I opted for training in my home and each time she came she answered all of my many questions and really helped me understand how I needed to train my two dogs. I used a different place for my first dog and was pretty underwhelmed with the training we received. Katie was fantastic and though one dog had more training than the other she worked to advance both without leaving one behind. 100% recommend

We have a 14 year old lab mix, 6 year old Chihuahua mix, 3 year old Eskimo mix which are all rescue and then I brought home an abandoned : month old Walker Coonhound to add to our family. Well, I was in for a surprise! The puppy, Ellie, was definitely more of a handful than any other dog we have ever had. I was starting to lose my patience and felt I was in over my head. Until I met Katie. There are not enough words to say how wonderful, kind, patient and flexible she is. We did private lessons every week for months.with 3 of the dogs. Dixie, our senior citizen, was happy to watch her sisters from afar. Katie not only trained my dogs, but she taught me how to train them myself everyday and to remain patient with them. Before meeting Katie I said never again would I attempt to walk all 4 dogs at once. Well, I am so happy to say that now every day I walk all 4 dogs by myself…and we all enjoy it! It is actually a pleasurable experience that we all look forward to each day. My only regret is not finding Katie sooner. I wish I knew years ago what I know now. I highly recommend Katie!!!

I could not recommend Katie at The Jacksonville Dog Wizard enough, but I will do my best to try. We adopted our husky/shepherd mix Narnia at the end of August 2020. At first, she was just a little skittish, but later she started to demonstrate some real anxiety and behavior issues. She would bark incessantly for no reason, was an escape risk, would not listen to any commands at all and did not even acknowledge her name, and was so afraid outside that I could not even take her on a walk. After a couple weeks I knew we needed help because I didn’t want us all to start having reservations about our new dog, who really was a very sweet girl who was likely treated poorly before we found her. I had been told about The Dog Wizard from the adoption agency where I got her and gave them a call. Katie came to the house and Narnia right away was barking at her, but soon was calm and was letting herself be pet – no one else besides our family who lived with Narnia before had been able to pet Narnia, who would typically scurry away and just bark. Katie showed me several different training techniques for control with a leash and gave us homework to do for a week before her next visit. From there all I can say is that I wish I had before videos of Narnia’s behavior, because she is an entirely different dog now. She comes when called, sits, lays down, stays nearby when on a leash and doesn’t pull, loves going for walks, and just generally behaves better than I could ever have imagined she could. She’s young, so still gets into a bit of trouble, but it’s puppy behavior that we now know how to work through vice just becoming overwhelmed. Narnia being a graduate of the program now allows her to also mingle with other Dog Wizard graduates so she can continue to work on her socialization skills with both other pets and people. The training did take time, but it was easy and rewarding to see the steps Narnia was making as she progressed. If you think your dog could use lessons, all I can add is you cannot go wrong. The Jacksonville Dog Wizard is a truly professional dog trainer who genuinely showed love and compassion towards my dog every visit.
