I took my daughter to this salon before Christmas as a Christmas gift. Adrienne the owner was the stylist. My daughter wanted a “baylayage” with teal highlights. First Adrienne put my daughters hair in foils briefly stating they “already lifted” it seemed fast but ok. She rinsed my daughters hair then applied a teal hair color in sections with a brush. She then took my daughter back within 10 minutes of applying color and washed her hair. Back in the chair she began blow drying and I could already tell there was no teal and little to no difference in my daughters hair color overall. I started saying things like “it doesn’t look like the picture we showed you” “I don’t see any teal” “something’s not right” . Adrienne had a rebuttal for everything. It’s the lighting, you can see some teal (at the nape of the neck), her hair is too healthy, you’ll see it out in the sunlight. Then Adrienne went and got the tube of teal color and handed it to me. She asked “didn’t you say you can paint? You can put the teal on her when you get home”. I guess that was at least an omission that the teal didn’t work(?). My daughter is very sweet and I’m very nice too. We didn’t know really what to do and Adrienne said we were done. Not offering to fix the issues right then and there. She moved on to her next client. I paid the bill which was slightly discounted but still $250. I even gave a tip. After seeing her hair in the sunlight and at home it was obvious not much was different at all. I texted pictures to stylist friends I have out of state. It was agreed her hair was nothing like the picture we showed Adrienne. They said it was an “embarrassment to their profession” that she gave me the tube of dye to do myself. They said the teal should have been applied to dry hair not wet. It should have been left on at least 30 minutes, same with baylayage. We called around and another salon agreed to look at my daughters hair the following day. We called Adrienne & my husband asked for a refund Adrienne stated “ I’m not calling your wife a liar but….” my husband put me on the phone. I explained everything and what other experienced stylists said. Adrienne said my 11 yr old daughter didn’t tell her she didn’t like it (?) I pleaded it was a 11yr olds Christmas gift to please make it right. Adrienne said she had other customers and hung up on me. We ended up at West Coast Hair Design that evening. Their color specialist Ashleigh came in on her night off when she heard my daughters story. She examined the hair and said not much was done. She worked for over two hours doing the process properly and we came home with teal hair! My daughter was so happy!!!! Huge difference from the day before at Adriennes. Ashleigh didn’t charge us as much because of what we went through at the other salon and I’m so grateful.
