We initiated a project with Aspen Leaf Designs of Reno, buoyed by a clear contract and a deposit of about $9,400 in adherence to its terms. Our journey, however, plummeted from enthusiasm to a whirlpool of unmet expectations and financial distress.
The lead designer, Marcio, seemed to vanish into his Brazilian escapades, leaving our project in the cold. Similarly, the general manager, Lisa, appeared to be entangled in this web of neglect, rendering our attempts for communication fruitless.
As the months snowballed into a year and a half, the only trace of deliverables we received was a barren PowerPoint presentation, a paltry return for the near $4,000 invested.
Compounding our woes, we were baffled to receive invoices intended for other clients, a glaring showcase of disorganization, that we had to also fight so that we were not billed for others projects. Furthermore a refund check that was clearly bad, (I can share the copy too) further underlined the chaos.
With rigorous documentation on our side, we managed to claw back a refund of about $6,000, albeit with a bitter taste of the time and effort spent. Our pleas for a complete refund reverberate through a void, pushing us towards the legal avenue to seek retrieval of our funds or a sound delivery for the amount paid and not something that any kid in 5 minutes can put together. 3 pictures
We lay bare our tale as a beacon of caution, and stand ready to share more about our unfortunate encounter with anyone considering a venture with Aspen Leaf Designs.
Luckily we have been able to find a legitimate design firm that appears to know what they are doing compared to this firm.
