Not Your Average Architecture Firm
We were excited to learn all about Meyer Design and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Steve Meyer. Steve has studied and practiced architecture for almost 30 years and started Meyer Design 15 years ago.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Meyer Design stand apart from its competitors.
“We really get to know our clients as people, and not just as clients. We will stay in touch with them even after we finish a job. By getting to know a family, we can design a home that really works for them. We also understand construction. I worked as a framer and trim carpenter when I was younger and still spend time at job sites today. When I look at a design and try to figure out structural details, my experience helps me think about standing at the job site envisioning how everything would come together.”
He went on to tell us a bit about how their business has evolved over the years:

Meyer Design has earned an incredible reputation over the years, so we wanted to know more about how they have spread the word about their awesome company. Steve told us that other than making connections in the community, their only source of marketing has been word of mouth. Of course, they have benefited from the power of positive online reviews. When we asked Steve how they have gotten these reviews, he reiterated the kind of personalized service they are committed to offering:
“I worked in commercial design for years but have stepped away from it a bit because it wasn’t as personal. I really love the personal connection that we get from residential design, which allows us to get to know our clients and their family. I think that translates into the great reviews we get. We send an email out once a year with the online platforms where we have a presence, asking our recent clients to leave us a review if they want to.”
