We spoke with Joey Brixx, the ower of Basement Barbers, about his business’ tremendous online reputation.
Of course, as an award-winning business, Basement Barbers has something that makes them stand out among their competition. When we asked Joey what that is, he said, “It’s my attention to detail. You don’t feel uncomfortable in my shop. It’s an intimate experience getting a hair cut, and you don’t want to be around a bunch of people who make you feel like you are going to be overlooked. It’s a personalized experience.”
Joey has dedicated himself to making people feel great throughout the time they’re in his shop. He believes firmly in making people feel cared for. “We need to take more time taking care of each other,” he said. “Our goal is to make people feel valued. We value so many other things than people. Making people feel like they matter in that time they are in the chair.”
Building Success Through Consistency and Vigilance
We wanted to know the Basement Barbers’ secret to success. According to Joey, it’s “Consistency — consistency in your work ethic. I am consistently at the shop and you get the consistency of a good hair cut.”
Joey is an expert when it comes to customer care. That’s why our team wanted to know what advice he had for other businesses that want to improve their online reputation. Here’s what he had to say:
“Truly pay attention to your numbers and to the demographic you are serving. You have to pick a direction and go with it. Even if you make a change, it’s okay. Go with what you know.”
