We were excited to learn all about Courtney Brothers Barber & Shaving Parlor and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Mike Courtney.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Courtney Brothers Barber & Shaving Parlor stand apart from their competitors. Mike told us about their family-friendly environment and the inclusive atmosphere they offer:
“We treat people the way we want to be treated. Back in the day, barbers started missing out for a long time; they were grumpy old men and wanted to do things their way. Back in the 90s women started taking their kids to the barber shop and weren’t comfortable in traditional shops. We wanted to make a fun, family friendly environment that parents could bring their kids to. We have a kids’ room, clean magazines, and are careful about what we put on the TV.”
He continued to tell us about how they like to keep up with the trends and about what they specialize in:
“We are guys specializing in guys’ styles. We know what guys want. We do a lot of straight razor shaves. We also do a lot of beard trims and know what types are trending today.”
