Not Your Average Barber Shop
We had a chance to speak with the man himself, Luiz, owner and barber at Louie’s Barber Shop. When we asked why he does what he does, he said, “I’m gonna tell you a story: My parents came from a different country and I was so fortunate to be born in this country. They worked hard to give me a better life, they did it for me and my brothers. They raised me to be a hard worker. When I was a teenager, my dad started his own business, he taught me to be an entrepreneur, to invest in real estate, to take risks in order to be successful. I’m a father, I’m a husband, and I’m not perfect but I always try my best. Whenever I talk to someone, give advice or listen to someone, I try my best. I’m just paying it forward. Everybody needs someone that listens. I believe in being positive and staying focused on the bigger picture. I want to leave a legacy, I want to be remembered by people. That’s my motivation!”
Building Success by Doing Good Work
So, what’s Luiz’s advice to other business owners that want to build up their online reputation? “I always tell my clients, ‘I just need one or two more good reviews to get my business bumped up one spot on the list of people that do what I do.’ My clients appreciate me enough that they get excited about it and they do it right there and then. So, always ask for reviews and if you’re doing quality work, your clients will be more than happy to do so.”
