Not Your Average Beauty Salon
We were excited to learn all about YOU Salon, Inc and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Christa Kummerlowe.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes YOU Salon, Inc stand apart from their competitors.
“I say that in our salon, our number one goal is to make every client look and feel their best, and to make sure that we listen to our clients and that they are heard. Many times in our industry, people don’t listen to what the client is looking for, so we want people to feel comfortable and heard. We want them to feel like when they come in here and when they leave, that it was the best part of their day.”
She continues to tell us about how their service connects with their business mission:
“From start to finish, it is our mission to make sure that our clients feel like they’ve been taken care of. That just doesn’t take one person! It takes the support staff, the front desk, the person who takes the call that comes in; from the moment they interact with the company to the moment they leave, they should feel like they’ve been taken care of and that their needs have been met. That’s everything, from communication to something as simple as having eyeglass protection in the color area for their eyeglasses. We try to think of everything before the client does.”
Building Success Through Referrals
When we asked Christa about YOU Salon, Inc’s secret to such a strong reputation is, she told us all about their fantastic referral program. She said that when their clients have shared about their great experiences, YOU Salon wants to reward them! She said that this has been their greatest source of new business.
There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as YOU Salon, Inc has managed to. We asked if Christa could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what she had to say:
“Don’t discount the millennial generation. The millennials know what they like to look at online, and millennials are the next up-and-coming group of people who will be spending money in the market. So, focus on trying to find a strength in these people that are getting a bad rep and utilize what they’re best at. Find somebody who’s really good with Instagram to help you with Instagram. Find somebody who is great with Facebook to help you with Facebook. Then do your research to see which avenue is best. Don’t speak to the same audience on all social media. Each social media has a different audience, so talk to the right audience on each one. Reach out to the people who know each avenue best. So, use whichever is strongest to help you. Also, make sure you’re on it, yourself! I think that the best way to learn about an online presence is to be on it yourself, then you can figure out what you like doing and what you like seeing and try to replicate or create a similar vibe on social media for your company.”
