Dustin, the owner of Squealer’s Smoke Schack, generous gave us a few minutes of his time to tell us about his one-of-a-kind business and its stellar online reputation.
The first question we had for Dustin was what is it that sets Squealer’s Smoke Shack apart from their competition in South Dakota. Here’s his response:
“Basically, all of our food is made from scratch; all of our sides are homemade; we smoke all of our meat for 12-14 hours. Our own blend of seasonings makes us unique.”
We also wanted to know what Squealer’s Smoke Shack’s business is and how the work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Dustin had to say:
“[Our mission is to] keep catering, keep growing and spread our awesome food to everyone that we have the pleasure of serving.”
Dustin went on to share with us the origins of Squealer’s Smoke Shack:
“We started as a food truck. At first, it was just a part-time endeavor. I ended up quitting my full-time job and got more and more catering jobs. Then, I opened a restaurant initially just to help with catering. I added a few tables inside the restaurant, which really kicked things off. After that, we expanded and rented a few spots and doubled our size. Once we have outgrown this space, we will begin plans to build a bigger restaurant and grow from there.”
Building Success Through Good Service, Good Food and a Great Staff
Dustin attributes Squealer’s Smoke Shack’s strong online reputation to their good service, their good food and the great staff they have that’s been around for years.
Outside of building a powerful online reputation, this local, family-owned business has gotten their name out there through their website and Facebook page, but according to Dustin, word of mouth is their biggest source of new customers.
