We wanted to learn a little more about this award-winning business and its impressive online reputation, so we took a few minutes to talk with Barb Wigsteadt, the owner at TLC Early Learning Center.
The first question we had for Barb was what sets TLC Early Learning Center apart from their competition in Minnesota. Here’s her response:
“We are the only nationally accredited, four-star, parent-aware, private, non-profit, Christian-based child care center in Bloomington!”
We also wanted to know what their mission is at TLC Early Learning Center and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Barb had to say:
“[We seek to] provide the highest-quality child care that we possibly can. We feel it’s important that the kids learn more about themselves, their families, and each other, and that they’re loved by God. Our mission is to be, in conjunction with Transfiguration Lutheran Church, a warm, loving, healthy, and safe Christian environment for our community. As children of God, we teach and model positive self-image, individuality, independence, and respect of others’ rights and properties. Children will be offered the opportunity to grow and develop spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, and physically.”

When asked about the TLC Early Learning Center secret to a strong online reputation, Barb said:
“We had a parent meeting in January and talked about the importance of getting our name out there. I was told that after that meeting several people posted reviews on social. We also offer a $200 referral fee.”
Outside of building a powerful online reputation, TLC Early Learning Center has gotten their name out there by word of mouth and online reviews. The center has been around for 34 years with a staff average of 16 years. Because of this, some staff have even attending the center as children, themselves!
