Young People’s Learning Center has managed to build the kind of reputation that most companies only dream of, so the team at Top Rated Local sat down with Owner, Heather Griffith, to learn the keys to their success. Here’s what she had to say.
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
For a start, we’ve been around for 40 years, and because it’s important to us to feel like we’re part of our community, we’ve been able to make an impact. We also work very hard to build relationships with both our staff and our customers.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
We’re locally owned and family operated and have been serving the community for 40 years, which has given us the experience to be prepared for whatever is thrown at us. We make it a point to be very close to the community. We are aware of the events going on within our community, and we maintain a close relationship with the families we work with
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
Everything we do, from toddler care and preschool to before and after school care, we do at the highest possible level in order to make parents’ lives easier. There seems to be a lack of child care in the community right now, and we are always looking at different ways that we can best meet that need. One way we do this is by keeping our prices affordable for our community.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We don’t do tons of marketing, but we do try to maintain our website. Most of our marketing is word of mouth, but we do send postcards every so often. Because we’ve been around for so long, most of the people in our community know who we are by now.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Connect with your community. We’ve also learned from experience that parents appreciate all of the information we have available to them on our website. People appreciate that they can learn so much about who we are and what we do in one place.
