Not Your Average Dance School
We were excited to learn all about Fuzion Dance Studio and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Marcel Parkinson.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Fuzion Dance Studio stand apart from its competitors. Marcel told us about their passion for helping their students to develop as people as well as dancers. She said:
“We’re really committed to our students. Overall, we care more about our students developing character and life skills [than dance skills]. We look at how they’re going to turn out as adults and at what kind of classes are going to help them be better people rather than focusing on a skill or dance technique or winning a competition. Those things are still important, and we strive for excellence in all that we do, but we really care about the individual.”
She went on to tell us about their excellent staff, saying:
“Our teachers are trained well; they are people who have the same values as I do, and are not just someone who is good at dance or good at coaching gymnastics.”
When we asked Marcel about the Fuzion Dance Studio business mission, she said:
