If you’re looking for a dance school that can help you learn, develop and thrive as a break dancer, look no further than School of Breaking in Aurora.

School of Breaking has received dozens of reviews with a perfect average rating of 5.00 stars, earning them a fantastic Rating Score™ of 96.00 and a 2019 Top Rated Local award for ranking among the top five dance schools and studios in all of Colorado!

Here’s just one of the many five-star reviews that got them there:

“I cannot say enough good things about School of Breaking. My son has been dancing here for two and a half years and has grown so much…as a dancer and a person. I love that they welcome everyone with open arms and teach that community, respect and kindness are just as important, if not more, than the dance moves. The instructors are the best mentors and role models, and we feel lucky to be a part of the SOB family!” – Jade M.

Not Your Average Dance School

We wanted to learn what makes this award-winning business tick, so we took a few minutes to talk with Chase Evered, who co-owns School of Breaking with Tommy Talybov and Letoya Garland.

To kick off our conversation, we asked Chase about what it is that makes School of Breaking unique compared to the many other dance schools in Colorado. Chase told us that they teach “breaking,” which is the predominant form of dance in hip hop culture, and is a style of dance that many other schools may not necessarily focus on. They teach toddlers, children, teens and adults this form of dance, and stay authentic to its roots in the South Bronx in the 1970s.

We also asked Chase about the School of Breaking mission and how they work to make the world a better place. Chase shared with us that hip hop gives people a chance to express themselves and is a form of free speech. Hip hop is about peace and love and having fun. Teaching hip hop dance and culture is a tool for building character and educating kids about life. They strive to develop students from the inside out as people and prepare them for life. Hip hop dance training is physically healthy, and it develops self-esteem and confidence in their students. Dance training teaches kids to believe in themselves, to respect themselves and to treat others with that same respect. They want to educate their community and provide a tool for kids to learn discipline and perseverance.

Chase went on to say:

“Hip hop is a community of warriors for peace. It comes from impoverished roots and was built by people who made the best of a bad situation and wanted to create something out of nothing. Hip hop can help people get out of circumstances through the power of their mind unlocked by music and dance.”

Building Success Through Excellent Service

Chase credits School of Breaking’s strong online reputation to the fact that they always strive for consistent, excellent service and to help the youth and educate them on hip hop culture. Everything they do has allowed people to have a fantastic experience at School of Breaking.

Outside of building a powerful online reputation, School of Breaking has grown through web development and SEO (search engine optimization), which Tommy handles, and by constantly crafting their storyboard and message.

There are many business owners looking to grow their business and build their online reputation. Here’s Chase’s expert advice for them:

“Work to provide service to others, not to make money. Find a way to give back to your community and better the lives of others around you. Provide a fantastic service at a fair rate, and shoot for providing 10 times the value of your price.”

Congratulations to School of Breaking for being a 2019 Top Rated Local award winner, and thank you so much, Chase, for taking the time to speak with us!
