We spoke with CJ, the owner of eVOLV, about his award-winning fitness center’s impressive online reputation.
“Our true passion is helping people,” he said, when we asked what it is that makes eVOLV different from other fitness centers in the area. “It’s not just a big corporate gym — it’s about people and about people serving people. Eighty percent of what I do has to be fun. I have to have purpose. Also, everybody that I hire has to have the same kind of attitude, and they have to have that connection with our clients.”
Building Success Through Passion and Inclusivity
At eVOLV, their focus isn’t only on fitness; it’s on making sure that people of all skill levels, body types, and backgrounds are given a safe and dynamic place to pursue health. He says that’s essentially eVOLV’s secret to success. In his words, “My passion is for my clients. Fitness is not necessarily what we actually do. We provide a place and experience that is all-inclusive and where everyone is welcomed.”
Here’s his advice to other business owners, specifically those in the fitness industry:
“Be true to who you are, and don’t copy others. If you are a personal trainer, people are attracted to your personality. You gotta have your own message.”
