What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
Making ourselves known. If no one can find you, no one can leave a review. We are very active on social media, and we check our online channels all the time. It’s important to us to be there for our clients. We ask for our reviews, and if they aren’t five stars, we’ve done something wrong and there is a conversation that needs to be had.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
Our work isn’t just work, it’s personal. We are here for our clients 24/7. Families meet and work directly with me to ensure that they are properly taken care of. We also do everything we can to cut costs down.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
I watched my parents be servant leaders. Funeral service is like the front line of helping people. We are the first ones there to make the best of a difficult situation and honor the family and their loved ones. Our financial structure is made with the needs of the community in mind.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We do a little bit of print advertising, but not very much. Because of our place in the community, our name is pretty recognizable. We also do quite a bit of online marketing, mostly blogs and videos.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Ask for reviews. If you aren’t getting the level or type of response you want, find out why and adjust accordingly. Survey cards and letters can be useful in collecting reviews.
