Not Your Average Home Health Care Provider
We wanted to learn more about this two-time award winner and how they managed to build such an impressive online reputation, so we took a few minutes to talk with Rebecca Barcy, the owner of I Need An Angel.
The first thing we wanted to know was what makes I Need An Angel a one-of-a-kind home health care provider in Arizona. Here’s what Rebecca had to say:
“We free your time and free your mind if you are worried about your parents, friends, spouse or neighbor at home, the hospital or a facility. There are two things that really make us stand out. We do a meet and greet, where we send our caregiver with a professional from our office to every first visit. It helps us protect the client and the caregiver and ensures that it’s a good fit. We also take the time to ask our clients what they want and listen. It may be as simple as getting the right ginger ale or asking how they want their melon cut.”
We also asked Rebecca what their mission is at I Need An Angel and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s her response:
“I’ve started a non-profit, called High Fives Charity. The mission is to advocate for caregivers and the seniors they take care of. We’re seeking to get the community involved with a brick and mortar building, where we can have speakers come in and educate people on things that affect seniors. We’re also here to help caregivers get more education.”
Rebecca went on to say:
“I took care of all my moms’ ‘to-dos’ when I was younger, and then she died suddenly. There was so much I missed out on, so many things I wanted to say that I didn’t get to. It led me to start I Need An ANGEL because I wanted to free others to have that time with their loved ones and not spend all of their time doing things that don’t matter, like getting the dog groomed.”
Building Success by Providing Creative Solutions
Rebecca attributes I Need An Angel’s strong online reputation to their commitment to doing a good job and providing creative solutions for their clients:
“We don’t really ask for reviews; we just do a really good job. We’re an extension to our clients and their families, and we seek creative solutions.”
Outside of building a powerful online reputation, I Need An Angel has gotten their name out there through grassroots marketing, including church bulletins, hospice recommendations and hosting an educational series in senior homes.
Every business owner wants to build the kind of online reputation I Need An Angel has. When we asked Rebecca what advice she has for the many other home health care providers, she said:
“Take care of people, and they’ll take care of you. We’re in our 15th year, and we always hear there’s a caregiver shortage and are asked how we keep caregivers. On average, caregivers only stay with a company for four to seven months. Ours stay with us four to seven years because we take the time to really care about our employees. We listen to our clients AND our employees, and that means people stay with us. Without exception, you need to take a look at your numbers every month.”
Congratulations to the team at I Need An Angel for being a 2019 Top Rated Local award winner, and thank you so much, Rebecca, for taking the time to speak with us!
