We had a chance to speak with Clean Bees owner, Katie Strauble, about her business’ fantastic online reputation. Here’s what she had to say:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
I think that Clean Bees is built on the quality of our relationships; we connect with clients during that first interview and it grows over time through our process. But, the most important relationship is with our staff — the onboarding, the training process… those key elements create strong, lasting relationships. People realize there’s something outside the industry norm happening here at Clean Bees. We put people first, that’s the number one ingredient.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
From the client perspective, our difference is that we deliver. We’re one of the last of a dying breed that actually goes out to meet clients in person to establish a relationship. We have a highly trained cleaning team that shows up to do high-quality work. Cleaners are given bonuses based on their performance and motivated to get the cleanings right. Our mission is to wow our clients.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
We do what we do to give families more free time (something most people have very little of). Life is meant to be enjoyed. Every evening, every weekend, they can go and live. We’ll clean. It’s ultimately all about giving people back their time. When I envision a family that has this type of help in their house, they get to spend that time with each other on the weekends — time to heal, time to cope, time for date night, time for play dates. So, we take this task really seriously. It can stabilize a family and give peace. Someone called us “cheap marriage counseling” once and I love that! It’s pure bliss to walk into a sparkling clean house, and I dare you to tell me there’s a better feeling than that!
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
I work with a digital marketing company called Marketing 360®! They do it all for us.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Authentically live your mission statement and focus all of your energy in that direction and those positive reviews will come. That way, if you get a negative review, it won’t crush you. Don’t give up. It’s takes time to get there. And most importantly don’t be afraid of the negative comments… you can run the best business in the world and have haters. Even as you’re earning your top-notch reputation, people will try and say negative things… just keep a positive attitude.
