What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
Tradewinds is my dad’s company, so until recently, there really wasn’t much of an online presence to speak of. I created a social media presence for us and started working with a company that sends out automatic requests for reviews.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
It’s simple — we’re a small, family-owned and -operated company. It’s just me, alongside my dad, brother, and cousin. We’re a close family, and we work hard to make sure our customers are also looped in to that.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
Although it may not be fancy or luxurious, heat is necessary. We know that if you’re calling us, you need help. Our team works hard to treat everyone we serve like family, treat them well, and support them as best we can. What we do really comes from the heart. We’ll get the job done right and try to change our customers’ impressions of contractors for the better.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We advertise in local magazines and try to stay hyper-local, down to the neighborhood. Online marketing is also a pretty big part of our strategy. Beyond that, we have dealer relationships that are really helpful in getting business.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Utilize social media, That’s what we do and it has worked well. Regular posting is important. Also, ask for the review. When customers are happy, they are glad to help.
