We took a few minutes to talk with Tammy Kaplan, owner, Interior Designer and President of Images in Design, Inc., to learn a little more about the business and how they managed to build such an impressive online reputation.
The first thing we wanted to know was what sets Images in Design apart from the many other interior design firms in New Jersey. Tammy points to her experience, which is very important in the interior design industry, as well as to the fact that her focus is always on the client:
“This is about your space, and we’re going to make it truly yours. It’s about your needs and what you want. You’re investing in this, and it needs to be what you want.”
Tammy is not a decorator; she’s an interior designer, and she enjoys construction projects. She also handles space planning, project management and decorating emergencies, and she oversees the projects she works on with architects and builders to ensure that the space in question will work with the rest of the plan. And with Tammy’s computerized floorplans, clients can do a 3D walkthrough of their new space before building even begins.

Tammy shared with us that she became a Certified Aging in Place Specialist about five years ago, which means that she specializes in helping people stay in their homes safely for as long as possible, regardless of age or illness. Tammy has done a lot of pro-bono work to help people who have had accidents and often donates her services to those in need. Currently, she’s working on a designer showcase in Plainfield, called Grace’s House, for the Valerie Fund, and she’s designing a playroom for Grace and inspired by Grace, a 10-year old girl who is recovering from brain cancer.
