We were excited to learn all about Thurman Design Studio and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Laura Thurman.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Thurman Design Studio stand apart from its competitors. Laura told us that the focus of their design is the idea of a global aesthetic filtered through a modern lens. Laura hails from Los Angeles, so her design aesthetic stands out in Tennessee. She said that L.A. inspired design is known for its use of color and global modernism.

Thurman Design Studio has earned a fantastic reputation, so we asked Laura how they have managed to grow their business and get their name out. We learned that networking events have been incredibly valuable for Thurman Design Studio. Laura said that they regularly attend industry events, interior design events, and will travel to connect with brands. “Focus on customer service and reviews. So after a job is done, reach back out, and make sure that if they were satisfied, they reach out and tell people. Do back-end research to help target you desired market. Keep a healthy working relationship with the customer all the way through the project.”
