Not Your Average Florist
We were excited to learn all about Thistles and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Manager, Shirley Vermeer.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Thistles stand apart from its competitors. Shirley told us about their vast selection of fresh, beautiful flowers. Their creations are designed individually, and nothing is mass-produced. Each product is made according to the individual preferences and desires of the client.
Shirley continued:
“We have a great, great staff that cares deeply about the receiver of the flowers. It’s like they know the person, and they create the design accordingly. Sometimes, it just hits home; it’s exactly what they wanted. We use quality flowers and fresh flowers, and our goal is to create a good product that makes everybody happy.”
She went on to tell us about the Thistles business mission:
“We want to be there to help, whether it’s celebrating a birth, baptism, wedding, or anniversary. We also want to be there in the tough times, like funerals and any other hardships that come in their lives. We want to [uphold a] mission statement that we’re here to help, whether it’s just sending a single flower or a large bouquet. We want our customers and the recipients to know that we care.”
Building Success By Putting The Customer First
Thistles has earned an incredible reputation, so we were excited to hear about some of the ways they have gotten their name out and grown their company. Shirley told us that most of their growth has happened thanks to word of mouth and that they are starting to utilize social media more.
