We wanted to learn all about Storm Lake Bakery and its impressive online reputation, so we took a few minutes to talk with the owner, Lisa Funk.
The first question we had for Lisa was what is it that sets Storm Lake Bakery apart from their competition in Iowa. Here’s Lisa’s response:
“I take time to train my employees and ensure they are knowledgeable with the product. I’m very patient and make sure they understand what great customer service is, and our employees definitely portray that. As a small bakery, it’s all about the uniqueness of our products and the way we try to be personal with customers and get to know them.”
Lisa went on to tell us that she came to the U.S. when she was 17-years-old from Paraguay. She started baking at an early age, and it has always been her passion. Storm Lake Bakery has been around since 1916, and Lisa has worked there since 2000. When the previous owner retired seven years ago, Lisa was asked to take over the business and has continued the amazing tradition of providing delicious food and excellent customer service.
