What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
I am a lawyer who is very conscious of my clients. As someone who comes from a normal, working-class background, it’s easy for me to understand where my clients are coming from and empathize with their positions. I understand the stresses and hesitations they are going through, and that understanding and empathy shines through in my work. This unique approach resonates with my clients, leading them to share their stores online.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
I always try to offer honest advice to my clients in an approachable manner. I am also a fanatic for detail, which is a must in my line of work. I truly enjoy what I do, and if you ever find yourself looking for an attorney to represent you, it’s in your best interest to find one who shares that passion and attention to detail.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
My father always wanted to be a lawyer, but I was the only one who got a degree. I got trial experience in the Marine Corps. My experience in the Marine Corps instilled in me at an early age a sense of responsibility to act for the betterment of all, not just myself, and the importance of detail and doing things right. When I left, I became a trial attorney representing personal injury cases. Nobody specialized in personal injury in Fort Collins, and I made a name for myself doing just that. I’ve always enjoyed the challenges and working with people, and I found that I could make an honest living doing it.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Always be fair — really, really fair — to your clients. Make it a point to be aware of their needs and expectations, and do your best to serve them well. You’re there to offer a service, and you should never forget that.
