Owner of A Ride in Luxury, Colleen Knapp, spoke with us about her company and online presence. Here’s what she had to say:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
We treat all of our clients the way we would want to be treated. We put ourselves in their shoes. If they need extra care or specialized service, we’ve got them covered. If one of our regulars is traveling, we offer concierge-type services.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
We believe in one-stop transportation — no bouncing around our clients who need to go where they need to go. Our drivers are mostly retired from other careers, bringing a unique perspective to conversations with the clients. We do reminder calls every day prior to the next day’s scheduled rides, heavily vet our service providers, and are always early.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
We don’t just provide transportation, we provide peace of mind. When people book with us, they know they’re in the capable hands of a professional driver, in a clean and well-maintained car, running on schedule. We’re not perfect, but we certainly try to be.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We don’t have a very big presence online and promotions aren’t something we do a lot of, but we do have a huge affiliate network that we work with.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Customer service is a lost art. Owners need to get back to basics.
