Michael J. Rothermel, Sifu (teacher) and the owner of Harrisburg Kung Fu Center, generously gave us a few minutes of his time to tell us about this one-of-a-kind business and its award-winning online reputation.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that sets Harrisburg Kung Fu Center apart from the many other martial arts centers in Pennsylvania. Here’s Michael’s response:
“I’ve made a full-time commitment to what I do. I’ve had my school for 37 years, and before that, I worked for my teacher for three years. What sets us apart is that we’re really trying to develop a lifestyle here. We try to integrate the principles of what we do here into our day-to-day lives, and it really helps to develop your personal self-improvement, not just your physical self-improvement. It really is not just about defending yourself. We understand the consequences and take responsibility.”
Michael went on to tell us that Harrisburg Kung Fu Center is a traditional school that teaches a very complete system of martial arts.
