We were excited to learn all about Massage Bar Harbor and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Nikki Look.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Massage Bar Harbor stand apart from its competitors. Nikki said:
“It’s our attention to personal detail. We structure every therapy session around you differently. It’s for whatever your needs are. We have several massage therapists and one acupuncturist, and I have a pretty good knack for finding out what the client needs before pairing them with the right person. I think that’s definitely what sets us apart, is finding the right fit for the client before they even walk in through the door.”
We asked Nikki about the Massage Bar Harbor business mission, and she said:
“It is our mission to provide a truly memorable experience to every client. We will accomplish this through offering a wide range of techniques performed by masters of their trade. That’s how I feel, like everybody that works here is a master of their trade.”

Massage Bar Harbor has earned a fantastic reputation, so we asked Nikki how they have managed to grow their business and get their name out. Nikki said:
“Online reputation is huge, but we live in a very touristy town, so I have built relationships with all the inn owners and business owners. We have a large local presence, too, and are part of the Chamber and are very, very active in our community. That’s a biggie.”
Of course, they have also seen the kind of benefit that comes from having online reviews. We asked Nikki what her secret has been behind getting so many great reviews. She told us:
“You just ask! When the client leaves you just say, ‘Hey, if you enjoyed this treatment, we would really love it if you would share with others.’ I don’t solicit reviews in any way, I just ask them to [leave a review], and they do.”

“First of all, you’ve got to put yourself in as many places as you can. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram, or Google Maps. Just put your business out there constantly; every place and opportunity to put your name out there, do it. Hire someone that does really good web work, and make sure your website is up-to-date and it’s fabulous, because that’s the first thing that people will see. People will make a lot of their decisions just based on your presence on the web, so that’s my advice.”
