We asked the owner of Therapeutix Mind & Body, Crystal Hoppie, why she does what she does. Here’s what she had to say:
“Individually, I’ve always had a passion for people. I initially wanted to go into oncology. My son became very sick, and ironically enough, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of three. So I pulled out of school and took care of him for a little while, and then he was rediagnosed with testicular lymphoma six weeks after his last chemotherapy appointment for leukemia. We went through another three years, and seven total years of cancer was enough for me. So I decided that [oncology] wasn’t my career choice anymore. But I still wanted to help people and make them feel better about themselves, and what better way to do it than to have a spa where they can come in and feel good? We’re able to help them achieve that goal. We want our clients to feel good about themselves, feel good about the life they lead and help them in any way we can.”
Building Success Through Word of Mouth and a Strong Online Reputation

“Always monitor what your reputation is online; go online and see what people are saying about your business. You need to know your market. You need to know your demographic. You need to know your business inside and out so that you can have that representation online. When you are watching and listening for stuff online, you’re keeping up with the latest products and services, and I think as long as you do that, you’re listening to what people are saying online and you’re responding to it, it will all come together. You just really need to be hands-on. You really need to be a part of your business and not expect somebody else to run that ship for you.”
