Not Your Average Moving Service Company
We were excited to learn all about Family Movers and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Dwight Tester.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Family Movers stand apart from its competitors. Dwight started by telling us that he and his staff are committed to providing only the best and most professional service. He said that after working with other moving companies where peoples’ stuff wasn’t treated very well, he has made it a point to be sure that he and his crew treat peoples’ belongings with the utmost respect. Dwight said:
“If you’re a customer of mine, I treat you like family. I try to make sure that my guys are very respectable to our customers. We do as they ask, we’re always on time, we make you feel more comfortable when you move.”
Dwight told us a bit about why they do what they do and the kind of service they hope to provide. He said:
“In the moving industry, a lot of times [our customers have] lived in a house for 20 to 30 years and when they have to move, it’s a very stressful, overwhelming time for them. So, if we can alleviate that in any manner, then I know that we’ve done a good job.”
In addition to the professional moving services they provide, Dwight told us about the cleaning they also offer! He said:
“We go the extra mile. Not only do we do moving, but we also provide a cleaning service as well. If you’re a customer and you move out of a house, the last thing you’re going to want to do is to clean your house. So, we go out of our way to make sure our customer’s needs are met in every aspect.”
Building Success And Giving Back

“It has all been word of mouth. I haven’t had to do any advertising. Except for my website, I haven’t done any advertising whatsoever. It’s all by word of mouth. I think that’s the best advertising that you can get.”
Family Movers also believes in giving back to the community. Dwight told us:
“I take a lot of donations. If people want to get rid of certain pieces of furniture or clothing or whatever it may be, I take it and donate it to women’s shelters and family shelters.”
