Not Your Average Nail Salon
We were excited to learn all about Mini Spa VT and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Marcie Taff.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Mini Spa VT stand apart from its competitors. Marcie told us that they believe in providing the total experience, from first contact all the way through to checkout. She said that they try to appeal to all of the senses by making sure the salon smells great and by offering things, like an organic foot scrub and a fall tea. Marcie also shared that she has another business, Lotus and Lily, that creates organic products that they use at the spa.
We asked Marcie about the Mini Spa VT business mission, and she shared:
“Our mission is caring for our clientele in a special way that allows them to feel different when they are here and when they leave. We want to make a difference in people’s day, and in their body, life, and emotions. When they walk out the door, I want them to have a smile on their face and a warm feeling in their heart. We make it clear that there is nothing we would rather do than help them.”
Building Success, Online and Off
In addition to building the kind of online reputation that any small business would envy, Mini Spa VT has spread the word about who they are and what they do mostly through word of mouth and networking. Marcie said that they also use social media platforms to reach out to the community and get the word out about their different monthly promotions. They often have a product of the month or service specials.
There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Mini Spa VT has managed to. We asked if Marcie could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what she had to say:
“For us, having a big social media campaign is very important. Plotting it out and scheduling things in advance helps so much… You have to plan, and you have to be consistent. ‘Pick and choose your battles,’ that is the motto that I have lived by for my entire life. It allows you the option of really deciding how you want to handle a situation and really thinking it through before you act. Some things are worth the push, and some things are not. Believe in yourself. It starts with you, and you have to start with that foundation. If you don’t have that, then you don’t have it.”
