How do they do it? We took a few minutes to talk with Business Manager Jeff Van Dehy to find out.
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
Unlike other companies, every single review we get is organic. We do good work, and the community wants to support us because of that good work. It’s that simple.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
There are many different painting companies out there, but the one big thing that sets us apart is that we were founded by a craftsman.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
When Karen founded our company, it was almost a social contract. In short, if she could find other people who shared her passion, she wanted to be able to provide them with employment and a 
good living.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We start by figuring out how many jobs we can manage throughout the year, and then we build our marketing strategy from there.
Our number one source for business is repeat customers, followed closely by warm referrals, which is why we always call and ask for referrals. We also have branded vehicles and apparel.
Furthermore, we have a website, and we are always trying to add fresh content to it, as well as to our Facebook page. When we feel the need to throw more money at marketing, we run an Adwords program.
Last but not least, we get a lot of leads from third parties, like Thumbtack, Porch and HomeAdvisor.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
We treat our customers as our neighbors, and we encourage other businesses to do the same. When you combine this approach to customers with quality service, it’s easy to ask happy customers to spread the word. When you make an impact on your customers, good or bad, they’ll share their experience.
