Not Your Average Pet Groomer
We were excited to learn all about Smooches Fur Pooches and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Co-Owner, Cindy Godfrey.
Smooches Fur Pooches is a family-operated business where everyone has a deep and genuine love for working with animals. Cindy says that being with animals and doing everything they can to make their lives as comfortable and happy as possible is what they are passionate about. Cindy’s daughter Carrie is the co-owner and a groomer at Smooches, and Cindy says that her love for animals has been a defining feature of her for her whole life. They use natural products and are a no-crate, no-kennel facility. They focus on making the process as stress-free as possible.
Cindy told us a bit more about their business’ mission:
“Our priorities are the health and well being of everyone’s pets. We try to maintain the natural integrity of their coats and skin.”

There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Smooches Fur Pooches has managed to. We asked if Cindy could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what she had to say:
“Believe in and love what you’re doing. We never ask our customers to give us good reviews or incentive to do anything. This literally just came out of the blue. We knew we had good ratings and good rankings, but we didn’t do anything to promote that. The reason that happened, I believe, is because it’s very obvious how much we care about we do and how passionate we are about what we do. If you can say that, that’s probably the best advice you can ever give anybody. If you’re not passionate about it, you should probably be doing something else.”
