We were excited to learn all about how Po’ Boys Creole & Fresh Catch has been able to build such an impressive reputation, so we sat down with the owner, Mike Clampitt.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Po’ Boys Creole & Fresh Catch stand apart from their competitors. To start, this is a niche restaurant; it’s the only authentic cajun creole place for quite a few miles around. Mike is also incredibly appreciative of his guests and makes sure that customer service is a priority. He tries to talk with every guest, at least to say hello or thank you. Po’ Boys Creole & Fresh Catch is able to offer both incredible food, as well as incredible hospitality.
Building Success Through Community Involvement and Customer Service
Po’ Boys Creole & Fresh Catch has managed to build an incredible reputation, both online and off. Mike told us that there’s not much they’ve had to do by way of paid advertising and that most of his business comes from authentic reviews and word of mouth. His business has been recognized, not only by Top Rated Local, but also by National Geographic Travel, and has been called “Best of Delaware”.
Mike also values his community and makes sure that his business is one that gives back. In addition to hosting benefits and donating to charities, he hosts a food kitchen once a month and gives soup and gumbo to the needy. Mike shared that he feels it is important to give back to the community that supports him, and that he will always do what he can to help those in need.

“I try to hit up as many people as I can to say “thank you” because they could have spent their money anywhere. We’ve got over 360 places to eat from [nearby] so I always want to say “thank you” for spending their hard earned money here.”
