“Food is really complicated; it isn’t just about the organic label or about supporting the farm because it’s local. It’s making sure the places we source from have good growing practices. We do the research and take the time to ensure we are bringing in the highest quality ingredients. We will even go so far as to import things outside of the US because lots of small-scale places do the bare minimum for certifications.”
We also asked Rochelle why they do what they do at Rafns’ and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s her response:
“We have always been foodies. We are very passionate about food, not only eating it, but making sure we know where it comes from. I find it to be an educational opportunity as well. I get passionate about communicating the differences in food production/distribution.”
