So, how do they do it? We sat down with Resident Manager Matthew Flynn to find out.
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
We try to never let anyone leave upset. We address all issues, no matter how big or small they may be, and always do our best to resolve them.
We also offer discounts for both locals and returning customers, which ensures that they keep coming back to us time and time again.
We are dedicated to great customer service in everything we do. In fact, it’s our number one priority.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
We are a family-owned and operated company that is focused on making personal connections with and getting to know our customers. The same three people work throughout the week, and we care deeply about providing our customers with a great experience. And, the owner is remarkably involved and always makes it a point to chat with customers when she’s on-site.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
Back in the 90s, my family moved to Colorado Springs, and we had a long history of cattle ranching out of state. We had a ton of family heirlooms and other possessions that we brought with us, but we had nowhere to store them. Soon after, we realized that other people probably had the same issue. Garden of the Gods Self Storage was created so that people would always have a safe place to keep their possessions in Colorado Springs.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We work closely with KRDO, which is a local news station, and we partner with a local magazine as well. Because we know how important and convenient it is for our customers to be able to schedule reservations online, we also work to specifically cater to the online market.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Great customer service starts at the top of the house. It takes everyone, from the owner all the way down to every individual employee, to completely commit to customer service and to make sure that all issues are resolved as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.
