Connecticut’s Top Rated Local® Senior Living Communities Award Winner: Middlewoods Of Farmington

Top Rated Local® is pleased to announce that Middlewoods Of Farmington is an award winner for senior living communities in 2019.

If you are looking for a compassionate and excellent senior‌ ‌living community in Hartford, look no further than this award-winning company!

Middlewoods Of Farmington has received many overwhelmingly positive reviews across three different verified sites with an average rating of 4.60 stars, earning them an impressive Rating Score™ of 92.00 and a 2019 Top Rated Local award for ranking as one of the top five senior living communities in Connecticut!

Here’s just one of their many five-star reviews:

“My mother recently decided to do a 60-day trial. It took a full year for her to make that decision, and two days into her ‘trial,’ she doesn’t want to go back home!! The entire staff, and I truly mean everyone, has gone above and beyond to make the transition pleasant and easy. Middlewoods is a safe, clean, and caring facility, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.” – L.B.

It is because of excellent reviews like this that Middlewoods Of Farmington is now able to call themselves a Top Rated Local award winner!

Not Your Average Senior Living Community

We were excited to learn all about Middlewoods Of Farmington and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Director of Community Relations, Ginny Brown.

The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Middlewoods Of Farmington stand apart from its competitors. Ginny said that the non-profit part of their job is a big piece of what they do. They focus on helping people find what’s right for them, even if that means they help them look somewhere else.

Ginny also told us about how having the right staff makes a difference:

“Happy staff makes happy residents. We have a lot of staff longevity; we have people that have been here 10+ years.”

Ginny spoke about the importance of giving back to the community, starting with their residents and extending out from there. She said:

“We think it’s very important to make people feel like this is not their last chapter. We encourage that they have so much more to give, so we get people involved and give them purpose. We also do a lot of outreach in the outside community.”

She also shared the Middlewoods Of Farmington business mission:

“Our mission is to provide a continuum of services that supports health, independence, and dignity. We build this continuum on the belief that a relationship-centered philosophy best sustains body, mind, and spirit.”

Building Success And Community

In addition to building the kind of online reputation that any small business would envy, Middlewoods Of Farmington has spread the word about who they are and what they do by hosting community events, like luaus, identity theft seminars for seniors, and by sharing their space with neighbors.

Ginny told us about how it can be scary for people to make this transition, so she extends the invitation to do a trial run, which is something not all communities offer. She told us:

“Something I like to do for people is to offer people a trial stay option. It’s hard to move from home and start living with 70 people. I tell people to ask about our trial stay option, which is something that sets us apart from other communities.”

There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Middlewoods Of Farmington has managed to. We asked if Ginny could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what she had to say:

“Be consistent, do the right thing, and always put the customers first. Listen, and follow-through.”

Congratulations to Middlewoods Of Farmington for being a 2019 Top Rated Local award winner, and special thanks to Ginny for taking the time to speak with us!
