Not Your Average Senior Living Community
We were excited to learn all about Somerford Place Columbia and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Sales Counselor, Melanie.
Somerford Place Columbia is a warm and welcoming community that specializes in caring for residents with memory loss. Their facilities are full of incredible amenities and supportive staff who are heavily educated on how to help people with dementia. As a part of their services, they have a Physical Therapist,an Occupational Therapist, and a Speech Pathologist. She told us a bit more about their supportive team and what they do:
“No person is ever alone; we are always a team. Our team looks into each resident and their entire life (who they are, what they like, what they did, etc) They treat each resident the same; they don’t rate their cognitive level.”
She also told us a bit more about their business’ mission:
“We make people happy and comfortable and content. We want them to live life to the fullest… We get them out in the living community. We want them active.”
She also told us about the Director, Will, and his commitment to going above and beyond to make their facility a great experience that families and residents alike can be happy with.
