Hawkes Tree Service has received many overwhelmingly positive reviews across multiple verified sites with an average rating of 4.91 stars, earning them an impressive Rating Score™ of 93.10 and a 2019 Top Rated Local award for ranking as one of the top five tree care companies in Maine!

Here’s just one of their many five-star reviews:

“We’ve had many contractors work for us over the years. These guys stand head and shoulders over anybody! They are extremely professional, courteous, and very hard-working! I initially thought the job they were doing for us would take well over a week, and they were in and out in two days. I highly recommend this company! Thank you, Hawkes Tree Service!” – D.T.

It is because of excellent reviews like this that Hawkes Tree Service is now able to call themselves a Top Rated Local award winner!

Not Your Average Tree Care Company

We were excited to learn all about Hawkes Tree Service and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Jared Hawkes.

The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Hawkes Tree Service stand apart from its competitors. He said that, first and foremost, it is his dedication to providing his customers with honesty.

He also told us about his four different crews and the multitude of services they offer. He said:

“We do a lot of shoreline zoning work. I’ve got a bucket truck crew, which does municipal work and DOT state work. I have two off-road lifts, and both of them do residential work. One of them works with a crane. We also have our own 40-ton rear-mount crane for doing tree removals. I have another crew that does a lot of commercial clearing. We do view work for people. We weigh out the point system on the shore and cut where we’re allowed to cut. I’ve got a 19-inch track chipper that we can take down in there to chip the material. We stick with doing just trees, but we’re very diversified in the large amount of things we can do with the trees. We can clear out the driveway and the house site, then they can put in foundation and the frame, and we can see where the windows are going to go. Then, we can go survey it so we can do the clearing needed to make their.”

Jared told us about some of the new services they have added:

“We added some new services this year. We added the integrated pest management services, where we’re doing treatments for brown tail moth caterpillars, winter moths, ticks, and mosquitoes. We did quite a few treatments this spring for the brown tail moth, and we’re looking at doing some treatments this fall.”

Building Success By Networking

Hawkes Tree Service has earned a wonderful reputation, so we asked Jared how he has worked on growing this business and getting their name out to new potential customers. He told us that advertising isn’t usually big for them, but that he is starting to place ads in the newspapers in Camden, because he knows they’ve had trouble with brown tail moths, so he hopes to notify people in that area of his services.

He told us about the power of networking:

“We work for a lot of contractors in the local area that refer us to other businesses, like carpenters and excavation guys. A lot of times, if someone has a recommendation before we get there, that helps.”

There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Hawkes Tree Service has managed to. We asked if Jared could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what he had to say:

“You’ve got to spend time with your clients and be sure of what they want. You’ve got to be able to give them good recommendations.”

Congratulations to Hawkes Tree Service for being a 2019 Top Rated Local award winner, and special thanks to Jared for taking the time to speak with us!
