We were excited to learn all about The Tuscan Sunflower and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Lynn Frost.

The Tuscan Sunflower has managed to stand apart from its competitors by offering creative, distinctive flowers and plants. Lynn said:

“I’m very creative in the designs I construct, and we have an extensive selection of flowers, which includes a lot of natural, local products. We go above and beyond to satisfy our customers, and I attribute much of my success to exceeding expectations.”

When we asked Lynn about the business mission at The Tuscan Sunflower, she told us:

“We love to bring happiness to people’s lives with our products and services. That is always our main focus in everything we do. We also strive to be as sustainable as possible with our business. All organic matter is taken home and composted, and every piece of packaging possible is recycled. Producing as little waste as possible that is taken to a landfill is very important to us. We are also looking for ways to make the building itself more sustainable, with improved insulation, heating, and renewable power generation.”

Building Success, Online And Off

The Tuscan Sunflower has earned a fantastic reputation, so we asked Lynn how they have managed to grow their business and get their name out. Lynn shared:

“I believe it has to do with the fresh, quality products that we carry and the exceptional customer service that we deliver. Social media is a great platform to showcase our work, and folks today like to share the great experiences they have with us, which helps in building our online reputation.”

In addition to building the kind of online reputation that any small business would envy, The Tuscan Sunflower has spread the word about who they are and what they do by keeping things fresh and new. Lynn told us about how she keeps her shop updated for every season, saying:

“I make sure to decorate the outside of the building for each season/holiday to really help us stand out when folks drive by and encourage them to stop and come inside. On the inside of the shop, I reorganize every so often and redecorate to keep it feeling fresh and exciting every time someone comes in. It’s always great to hear how much people love the atmosphere when they come into the shop.”

Lynn also told us about the importance of sharing her work online and keeping her website updated. She said:

“I regularly post images of designs and weddings I’ve recently worked on, and am always trying to showcase my latest work. I invested in a little area with a nice backdrop to take all my product photos in, allowing me to take photos myself with that little extra professional flair. And like the outside and inside of my shop, I’m sure to update my website colors and products for each holiday/season, so it never feels stale, even for regular customers.”
