We were excited to learn all about Body Mechanix Massage and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Amanda Holt. Amanda told us that they have been in business for 12 years, but that it has really been in the last four or five that their staff has grown so much. They currently employ nine people, all of whom are exceptional bodyworkers.

We wanted to know was what it is that makes Body Mechanix Massage stand apart from its competitors. Amanda told us:

“We have a real focus on education and connection. I think that’s what makes us slightly different from other places. I build staff up to help nurture their educational needs. We were excited to learn all about Aim To Be Well and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Melissa Shatney.

Melissa also told us about Honeybee Blessings, which she started with her friends:

“I work with an orphanage in Haiti, and I’ve been there a few times. I support them and donate to them regularly to help get the kids off the streets. We are building a wellness center in Haiti as well, which will be run by one of the ladies who is part of the orphanage and is also a nurse, and a company in Pennsylvania has donated a ton of supplements to help them get started. The organization is called Honeybee Blessings. ‘Melissa’ means ‘honeybee’ in Greek.”

“I worked originally as a medical technician in many different fields. When I decided to go to massage school, all that knowledge helped to propel me. I give every single session 110 percent, and I work a limited schedule — about five hours — so that I don’t burn out and can provide the best session.”

“I live across the street from Rivers Edge [nursing home], and I go over there for an hour, often to work with the seniors.
