“We really focus on the customer experience. For us, that begins when they initially contact us and continues all the way through our last contact point. We communicate before the shoot and then very thoroughly during the shoot. We try to make it very fun and engaging during the shoot; we try to make the experience very fun, so they want to share.”

“Even if you think you cannot afford an accountant, hire one. Set up your business in the right way. Have the right guidance to build the foundation that your business will be built on.”

“I was very lucky very early on that I had two incredible mentors, Tom Moore and Jim Maxwell. The two of them really took me under their wing. I started getting referrals from Jim when I was just getting into the business, and I received a lot of guidance. I owe a lot of my early success to these men. I might be the face of Van Buren Photography, but Su is the backbone. Su, our Studio Manager, is always beside me to back me up, from being silly with children during a shoot to calming a newborn to fulfilling all orders and communicating with clients. We were excited to learn all about Jay Farrell Photography and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with Jay Farrell himself.

Not Your Average Photographer

We were excited to learn all about Roland’s Photography and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the owner, Emanuel O. Roland II.

The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Roland’s Photography stand apart from its competitors. Emmanuel told us about their unique studio and their ability to turn any location into a professional photo studio. He said:

“Roland’s Photography has a mobile studio that they can take basically anywhere. The benefits of this studio are that it’s mobile and also offers a place to change if people are doing an outdoor shoot or are shooting at multiple locations. We can provide a traditional studio set-up while at a remote location. The RV has bathrooms, which is great if you’re at a park or natural area. They also offer snacks and drinks. Another perk is that you can sit down or get out of the sun to review photos after you’ve been on your feet for an hour taking photos. This is extremely convenient for the clients. We will also take this bus to a hotel to do corporate headshots so that the employees can just come out real quick, hop in the RV, and take some photos. This allows them to get back to their meetings or whatever business they have to tend to. We provide lots of flexibility with this mobile studio. People love being able to do an outfit change in the RV, as opposed to a dirty public bathroom, or even the woods!”
