My dog was sent to board with Chandler Dogs and has been boarded there before without many worries (she usually has diarrhea after but they said it was “stress colitis” which I am now very much doubting). She was there for four days and when she was given back to me there was no talk of her being sick, seeing that it was past midnight and I had just driven six hours I didn’t notice the telltale signs until the next morning. I called them that very morning to let them know she likely had double pink eye and to check the other dogs so no one else got sick. I was told immediately that none of the other dogs were sick, they didn’t take a second to even check the other dogs. After taking her to the vet later in the week it was confirmed that she not only had double pink eye but also kennel cough, they said had she not been vaccinated she would have been much much worse. I asked my mother to call Chandler Dogs as I was quite angry and didn’t want to be rude to them. My mother called them, explained to them that we are now out over $400 because of them and they said they’d “get back to us”. That was June 17th - they never called us back. My dog was boarded June 9th-June 12th. I don’t expect them to know everything about every dog but it was blatantly obvious that mine was ill. She was hacking and had green goo coming out of her eyes. This could not have happened anywhere else as we do not go to parks and haven’t gone on many walks since it’s so hot. We also don’t see other dogs on our walks or if we do we cross the street more so to avoid my getting ill than her in these times. I am so incredibly disappointed in Chandler Dogs and do not feel safe bringing her back there. These are both very communicable diseases, and I am so lucky that she is okay now. She finished her antibiotics and steroids two weeks ago and is doing much better but none of this should have happened in the first place. I will never be bringing her back, nor will I be recommending Chandler Dogs anymore. I really do hope they can be better in the future but their lack of accountability is so disappointing. Furthermore, when I posted my review on Google they told me that they “let all of our clients know the common colds that pups can pick up in any daycare or boarding facility” - kennel cough is not a common cold. They then stated “When we spoke with you last for a follow up we were under the impression there was no additional follow up needed” - you told us you were going to “get right back to us” so therefore you acknowledged that there was indeed need for a follow-up. Here comes the kicker: “Conjunctivitis is super common, but also leads into K9 cough, all of our pups are vaccinated and health screened before coming for daycare or boarding and we have no symptomatic pups staying with us, it could be possible your pup had these issues lay dormant and maybe the open play unfortunately caused her to become symptomatic.” (1) Conjunctivitis is very common - it can also be very dangerous. Had my dog had ulcers in her eyes she would have lost her sight. (2) There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that conjunctivitis causes kennel cough. Kennel cough is caused by the bacterial organisms like Bordetella bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma spp, and Streptococcus. While kennel cough can cause conjunctivitis - the opposite is not true. (3) I find it exceptionally hard to believe that there are zero symptomatic and by your own admission that “it could be possible your pup had these issues lay dormant” - you acknowledge that ANY dog could be asymptomatic and have given my dog a potentially deadly disease. Here’s how I know she was NOT asymptomatic: Kennel cough is a highly communicable disease that can only spread through direct dog-to-dog contact through aerosols and droplets coughed into the air by infected dogs or coughed onto objects like toys, beds, collars, leashes, and food bowls. My dog is in a single dog household. We haven’t been on a walk since mid-March due to the heat and on those walks we NEVER came into contact nor even saw another dog. I do not work with dogs so I could not have brought it home with me. She sees my parents, who do not have dogs nor do they work with dogs - that’s it. It is physically impossible for her to have been infected prior to her boarding. I was told by the vet that it was the boarding where she was infected because of the facts stated above. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of response and accountability by Chandler Dogs, please do better - not for my sake but for the sake of all dogs in your care.

Worst experience for our dog. Picked up our pup after a few days in their care. She had a head injury which caused a nose bleed, raw paws, a torn of dewclaw, kennel cough and multiple scratches. No reports were done by the staff. They insisted this was all normal. Emergency vet, 3 prescriptions (1 for pain) and $680 to get her feeling better. 24/7 assumes no responsibility because the injuries are minor. Horrible follow up and communication.
