I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience dealing with Shirley and Howard at Bridgeway Property Management. We just recently bought our first investment property, but have been landlords renting out the upstairs apartment in our own home for over 10 years. We had unique needs as we are very hands on with managing our own in-home rental but felt some insecurities as we would be renting two apartments off-site from where we live for the first time. We hired Shirley as a consultant to help us through the process. She came out to look at our apartments and give her assessment of appropriate rents for the Toronto market. She was dead on with her rents assessments as we rented to two amazing couples quickly but not so quickly that we would query whether our rents were listed too low! She came up with options, at our request, for an applicant screening service, and a review of our rental application and lease, as we did not need monthly property management services. She did an amazingly thorough and thoughtful job with the screenings and provided us full information on the credit checking and the phone interviews she did with the applicants' references, and all so quickly, with updates during the process. She also helped us with all the questions we had about the process of advertising, showing, screening, tenant insurance, pets, etc. It was a lovely experience to work with Shirley and we will continue to hire her as a consultant for the long-term as we plan to have an investment property long-term. I cannot recommend Shirley, Howard and Bridgeway highly enough from our experience with them. You will be in amazing hands if you go with Bridgeway!
