I'm highly disappointed with the service and fraudulent business behavior of this business. I booked service for 2 cakes for a party event I was having in July of 2019. I booked the service in April of 2019 and had paid all my money as agreed to Sonya Dorsey which is one of the business owners of Definitely Dorsey's Designer cakes and catering. As the time of my event came closer, I communicated with Sonya and Keith Dorsey about delivering the cakes to the venue or if I needed to pick them up myself. I had spoken to Mr. Dorsey several times and he said that his wife was busy with cake orders and he was taking calls on her behalf and he assured me that I was going to have my 2 cakes for my event. That call was on a Sunday. The following Monday once again the week of my event I called to confirm the writing on my cakes for my event and Mr. Dorsey told me that everything was noted and I would have my cakes for Friday. After our conversation I received later in the afternoon a call from Mr. Dorsey letting me know that Mrs. Dorsey was in the hospital, but not to worry because I would have my cakes. So I asked that he at that time keep me updated as it is the week of my event and if the cakes couldn't be done to please reimburse me the money I paid in full so I can at least try to find another cake bakery or someone who could possibly get my cakes done by Friday. Mr. Dorsey once again told me that I would have my cakes and not to worry. Since he is part business owner and partner of chef Sonya Dorsey I took his word and was confident that I would be okay for my cakes on Friday. On Tuesday when I called to confirm a pick up time for the cakes on Friday Mr. Dorsey told me that they had to cancel my order and that they cannot provide my cakes for my event on Friday July 19th, 2019. So I simply asked for a refund and Mr. Dorsey told me that I would have a full refund of the money I paid for services they couldn't provide under the circumstances. On Wednesday I called Mr. Dorsey at the number I had been provided for the business. I didn't get a answer so I respectfully sent a message to let Mr. Dorsey know that I was understanding of the circumstances, but also that I needed my refund back to move forward with my event that he cancelled on after assuring me that I was going to be okay though his wife was in the hospital. I recieved a message from Mr. Dorsey and Mrs. Dorsey back to back stating I was going to receive my refund asap. I respectfully communicated with this business/owners and each time was an excuse being made and false statements made about me simply because I asked for $415 back for cakes I didn't receive and a cancellation 3 days before my event. It is now August and I have not heard from the business and they blocked me from communicating with them so I have had to reach out to a lawyer to further pursue this matter. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND OVER BOOK AND SPEND YOUR MONEY TO DO OTHER THINGS AND HAVE NO BACK UP PLAN TO REIMBURSE YOU AS A CUSTOMER. I'M NOT THE FIRST AND POSSIBLY NOT THE LAST WHO HAS EVER BEEN THROUGH THIS WITH THIS BUSINESS/OWNERS AND I WISH I HAD KNOWN BEFORE BELIEVING THEY WERE A GOOD BUSINESS. THE REVIEWS AND RATINGS SAY ONE THING, BUT THE ACTUAL EXPERIENCE SAID EVERYTHING. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DEAL WITH THIS BUSINESS. THEY HAVE FRAUDULENT AND DECEPTIVE WAYS AND WILL PLAY VICTIM TO KEEP FROM BEING ACCOUNTABLE.
