Buyer Beware!! I recently bought flooring from Pro Source in Maumelle, Ar. The reasons I used Pro Source was because I had a relative by marriage that worked there. I had heard over and over about how Devon Mason the manager stood by the contractors that he referred (Pro Source). I did get a break on the price. But when problems started to arise nobody wanted to stand good. When Oscar of Prestige Flooring gave us the quote, which included the moving of the furniture, tearing up the old flooring and disposing of it and laying the new flooring and moving all furniture back to the original place. My husband and I ask three times to make sure that we all understood each other. Oscar is Hispanic, and I wanted to make sure that I understood him. The problems that arose had nothing to do with him being Hispanic. He could have been green and from Mars for all I cared as long as my flooring was done right. 1. Prestige Flooring told us (after the workers had started) that they did not include the fee for tearing out the old vinyl in the kitchen and bathrooms. They would have to charge us more. What part of tear up all the old flooring and putting in the new flooring did they not understand. My husband told them that if they would go ahead and remove the old flooring that we would get rid of what they tore up. Which the cost would be around $400.00 to have it removed. We were trying to work with them. 2. When I called Pro Source to speak with Devon Mason he was not in but lady that answered the phone ask me if she could help me. So, I told her what the problem was and to see if Devon could talk to Oscar and find out what was going on. I did tell the woman that maybe there was a communication error because Oscar did have an accent and maybe we did not understand him. THAT WAS MY BIG MISTAKE! Little did I know but I was talking to Oscar’s sister evidently, she works at Pro Source The whole time I was on the phone I was not rude, nor did I raise my voice or talk down about Oscar. I do not know what Oscar’s sister told Devon, but it was not good. I think she got mad because I called about Oscar and Prestige Flooring. When I did get the call back from Devon Mason from Pro Source he was screaming at me about how dare I call up there. He never ask me what the problem was he just screamed and cussed at me. Yes, he stands behind his contractor whether they give good service or not. So now all my relatives are mad because I called. 3. When the job was almost finished the sub-contractor told my husband that they were not getting payed to move the furniture back! We would have to get with Oscar about that. We called Oscar and he said he would call them. He must have because all of them left 2:30 but one. When I got home from the church I did thank the man for staying. Even though I had a slipped disc in my back I helped my husband move the furniture back. We had to! We had a 10 in wide trail to the toilet and tub because of a chest that they had moved into the bathroom. Try getting ready for work! 4. After all the problems we just wanted them to finish and get out of our house. The last day the sub-contractor told my husband they had broke a part on the commode, but they were going to get a new part and put it on. Oscar came by to check off on the work of the sub-contractor and of course get the money. He told my husband that they were done, and everything was fixed. Later, I had to use the bathroom and when I tried to flush the toilet there was not any water in the tank. I thought they had forgotten to turn the water back on to the tank, so I turned it on. They had not fixed the commode or even put on the part that was cracked! This caused my bathroom to floor before we could get the water of at the meter. So I don’t think we got a good deal at all from ProSource or Prestige Flooring!!!
