I suffered with painful sinus headaches for several years and they had gotten worse after I turned 60. It affected my sleep most every night so I was always tired. Also my headaches were triggered anytime I flew on an airliner even if I dosed with Sudafed, Afrin and pain medication. I was miserable, but I just slugged through life for many years. Finally in January 2018 after a miserable flight home from Tucson I looked for a local Ear, Nose & Throat Doctor to give me an evaluation about what could be done. I met with Doctor Blake Hyde at Alpine Ear Nose & Throat. He scheduled allergy tests and also a CT scan of my head. The allergy tests did not find a problem but the CT scan revealed several of my sinus openings were restricted, a large polyp above my right eye in a sinus, and fluids were pooled up in several sinuses. Doctor Hyde recommended Endoscopic Sinus surgery to make my sinus openings larger and to remove the polyp. I was hesitant and afraid of this surgery but Doctor Hyde met with me a couple times and thoroughly explained the procedure and the tools used. Also about recovery, etc. I had the Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in April 2018. It is 9 months later now and I feel great! Recovery takes a while, but it is soooo worth it. I would highly recommend Alpine and Doctor Hyde and Endoscopic surgery to anyone who suffers chronic painful sinusitis like I did. This procedure was life-changing for me and life is much more enjoyable now. Thanks!
