My recovery took almost a year...being patient in this process is Key! I had a torn tendon, old scare tissue from past. It popped so loud doing a lunge when it happened . Dr Hecker took an ultrasound very first appt, did not waste anytime figuring out what my treatment should be My daughter is a RN, she came to my first appt and was taking notes how the Prolotherapy works, she said, He is one of the smartest Dr. she has heard! Don't teach this in Nursing School. I had injections that were not always pleasant(prolo therapy), but anything is better than surgery!! Later treatedment with Laser, shockwaves....PT. The DR. I went to first before Dr. Hecker, put me in a walking boot! wow, how terrible was this? Thank God I only had it for 2 wks before I was referred to Dr. Hecker. Dr. Hecker practiced at OCR and left because he knew there is a better way to treat patients other than surgery!!! The best advice I can give anyone is be patient with a severe injury like I had. Wear the neoprene brace or other brace and be PATIENT!!!
