I already had a regular LTC policy (pay yearly premium), but was interested in learning more about asset-based/hybrid policies. I don't recall how I came across 525 LTC, but I had excellent discussions with Brian Ott as he laid out the pros and cons of such policies, and basically showed me the numbers involved. I appreciated the fact that Brian clearly empathized with my situation - mother in nursing home with dementia, and my desire to plan ahead just in case - since, he, too, had to deal with a family member and long-term care. I initially hedged on an asset-based LTC policy since the upfront investment was larger than I was comfortable with. However, Brian searched and found one that better served my needs. It gives me great piece of mind, knowing that I am better prepared for the future and will not be a burden on family members.
