I live several states away and blindly trusted David Hunt of D&R Landscaping to do a landscaping job at the end of January 2023. I was ripped off by Dave Hunt in the amount of $600. I paid in advance and in full ($1200) for the job. The work had to be stopped due to turtles being found on the property. Dave Hunt waited several days before sending pictures of the completed work which I had repeatedly had to ask for. I left Dave Hunt a voice message expressing my worry about being ripped off*. To date, Dave Hunt has not returned any of my emails, calls, or text messages, except for one: my apology for the misunderstanding*. He accepted my apology but, to date, still has not returned the $600 owed back to me. *The misunderstanding: I was sent a letter from the city of Port St. Lucie about overgrowth from my property onto a neighbor’s. When I called the city, I was mistakenly told that the letter could be a scam and to send a copy of the letter which I did. The letter was verified to have been sent by the city. I then forwarded this email communication to Dave Hunt so he could understand why I thought I was being ripped off. Mr. Hunt never acknowledged my attempt to clear up the situation. Go ahead and use Dave Hunt/D&R Landscaping if you wish but you may not want to pay the cost of any work up front and in full because you may not be refunded should anything out of the ordinary happen.
