Horrible! Started our 30x 30 building Nov 2020 and didn’t finish until July 2022. Entire developments sound us were built. I have a list of 77 emails that they never answered and just as many phone calls that they wouldn’t return. No communication, they just ignored us. Good thing I held on to my cancelled checks because they just sent me an invoice that I paid back in March. There is no excuse for ignoring your customers.

I had the poorest consumer experience of my lifetime with Delmarva Buildings. An inexcusable, full of frustration, seventeen month experience with them as follows. 1st. Dishonesty and total confusion in scheduling their work. Gave at least 15 + different start dates. Would not call or show up. Continued this way for 12 months before any construction started. At first they were going to build without a permit. I eventually learned that in fact they needed a permit to build. I pulled the permit myself. I wanted to make sure everything was legal. I also made sure all communication was documented with photos. Some photos in this review. At five months after signing the contract they had not driven one nail but emailed me to say my contract price had increased $1,600.00. Here I thought signed contracts could not change. Not so with Delmarva Buildings. The price increased again and in the end I paid a total of about $4,700.00 additional. After the price increase before work ever started or any materials were delivered I wanted out. But, I was told I would owe them $4,000 dollars for materials ordered. Be careful of this company. Their business practices are very suspicious and possibly illegal. 2nd. They are just a broker of the work and do not even have in house crews. Instead they sub all of the work out to other businesses also know as sub-contractors. 3rd. They use #2 & #3 grade lumber in construction of your building. Some of the cheapest materials there is. Their contracts are misleading. Delmarva Buildings claims higher grade materials is their standard. It’s a lie! My building was not even built to specs they showed on their prints. 4th. You are ignored after you sign the contract and give a deposit. They also have language written into their contracts allowing them to do the work when they please, raise the price and destroy your property in the process. They have the worse communication I have ever seen. Will not return multiple calls/emails for weeks at a time. 5th. Shoddy apprentice grade level craftsmanship. It took around a dozen trips back to my property by other individuals and crews to study, photograph, fill out reports and do over a considerable amount of the work. It took four different individuals and three different delivery trucks just to get the right trim metal. The incompetence of this company is unbelievable. 6th. Read the contracts and small print. This company will show no respect for your property. There is language written in their contracts allowing them to destroy your land at no cost to them for repair. It is understandable that some damage will be done to your land which should be limited in scope to the footprint of your building and immediate surrounding area. Not so with this company. I had to repair lawn damage that was 100’ from where construction took place. I had to repair and seed a 1/3 an acre of my lawn at my expense for equipment and materials. 7th. Even though I provided a dumpster at my expense. They scattered debris like nails, screws, sharp metal trimmings and various used or bent fasteners all over my driveway where I have vehicle traffic. I picked up over a hundred fasteners just out of my driveway. 8th. Once you try to escalate the horrible experience you’ve had with their business by talking to the owners. It’s complete silence! They bear no responsibility whatsoever or care to address you directly. Google limits the length of this review so I cannot fully describe my experience. I would need to write a book. I’ve made my point though. Eventually I had to issue Delmarva Buildings (Part Owner - James Sacra) an ultimatum. That either my project was completed by December 6th 2021 or else I was going to start legal action. This got their attention and they finished the project on 12/03/21. Horrible experience with this company. It’s owners James Sacra and Mr. Rhue are aware of my experience with their business and have totally ignored me. They offered no apology or courtesy in word or deed. Do yourself a very big favor and find another company for your building project!

We signed a contract in March 2018. It is now August and it is not completed. Contract says 4 to 6 weeks. The building is up. The planned steps are not installed and apparently can't be as planned. The outside trim work is not completed. You cannot get a straight answer out of them when you inquire. I'm ready to get a lawyer!

I am very happy with my Pole Barn... It was an experience that had a few errors and mishaps that I wish never happened. But when is real life ever perfect? The booboos were fixed and the end result is what I had envisioned.
