As I sit back and read all of these pleasant reviews, I can honestly say that I wished, as her employee, she would have treated me like an asset and not a liability. You see, we all make mistakes, "large" or "small," however, the few mistakes I made were always called out. Paralegal sending documents out to be signed/notarized with the client's name misspelled and the client calling in to share that, but me, an African-American female, I was the "ONLY" one that seemed to catch the backlash and be reprimanded and threatened. I'm a court reporter, and I have NEVER worked with or for an attorney that has called me a "Bitc_," a "Fuk'r" et cetera, but Elle did. She treats her clients well, but I, as one of her former employees, as of today, was treated in such an abusive manner. She gets pissed at certain clients when they call in and complain that she has not been responsive to their many calls, but I took those heated calls, and if she has already passed her callback slots for the day, I'm supposed to know how to handle that. And don't ask the paralegals ANYTHING, because they will run to her and complain, or they will give you a certain negative "tone," as she, herself, described it. All employees...and I mean ALL...should be treated equally no matter what your title is...I worked for this woman, gave her and my peers much respect, and in return, I got nothing but a slap in the face and stabs in my back. Elle is not who she says she is and/or pretends to be. When she moved to her new office space, she decided that she no longer wanted an African-American to be the face of what people see when they walk in the building and her office. Not once, did I ever send out any documents to clients and/or prospects with errors, but her paralegal did, yet I was reprimanded, threatened, and told I would be fired..not her paralegal who, of course, is not African-American. I was forced to resign (which is what she wanted), because she threatened to fire me all because of asking questions while she and her paralegals gossiped and joked and I worked. And this woman used to praise my work! It was not until we moved into Suite 1000 that they became completely brand new. They did not want a "black" face in a "white" space.
